When Tragedy Strikes
In 2006, Cooper Reeves recommended Life, TPD, Income Protection and Trauma insurance for Robert who is now 48 years of age. Recently Robert was considering cancelling his Trauma Cover as the premium was becoming expensive. After reviewing all of his policies, we were able to restructure his Life and TPD cover through his superannuation to minimise the impact of his day-to-day cash flow, thus making the trauma premium more affordable.
In 2013, despite being a non-smoker and fit, Robert suffered a heart attack, devastating his wife and two teenage daughters. Thankfully he recovered well enough and is now working on a part-time basis. We immediately lodged the trauma and income protection claim and within 2 weeks Robert received a tax-free trauma benefit of $195,000 and is also in receipt of a partial income protection benefit of $4,000 per month. This has provided him with peace of mind knowing that he and his family are protected.
